About Us & Pledge

Feminine Unity was founded by Tonja Dudley Bagwell. It is an organization for feminine spirits throughout the world. Those with a feminine spirit are invited by the founder and other members to join. Members are asked to take a pledge of Feminine Unity and to read and consider the five principles.

The concept of feminine unity originated with a poem written in 2007 (click on "Home – Feminine Unity" tab to the left). The thought of a female president and a few other factors inspired Tonja to ponder the meaning of femaleness. The significance of a feminine spirit is represented in all aspects of life in all corners of the world. The similitude that exists among us outweighs status, race, education, social class, culture, age, sexuality, and other factors that separate us. Feminine Unity can inspire feminine empowerment as the minds, bodies and spirits of females (and males) intermingle to encourage feminine spirits.

The mission of Feminine Unity is to promote the importance of interrelationships among women (and men) who share an understanding of what it means to be a feminine spirit anywhere in the world. Feminine spirits have a special bond and share many common emotions and experiences. The reality of our experiences is that some are positive and some are negative. We will focus on positive affirmations, positive thoughts, and positive outlooks. We will uphold positive solution-oriented behaviors which are a benefit to self and to others. If we support each other through the struggles that threaten us and if we unite in our strives to achieve goals, we can win!

Principles of Feminine Unity

1. We will strive to maintain a positive attitude, a sense of humor, a sense of pride, a sense of belonging, and high self-regard.

2. We will not accept or condone hatred, dishonor, abuse, bigotry, or disrespect toward or against one another.

3. We will exhibit appreciation, compassion, tolerance, optimism, and enthusiasm toward one another.

4. We will open our hearts and minds to nurture, comfort, encourage, listen to, and respect one another.

5. We will work to achieve education, goals, mental and physical healthiness, and success in all that we desire.
